Our Purpose

Business Potential exists to make high-quality learning accessible to everyone — regardless of background, income or opportunity. It is the social responsibility initiative of Develop Life Ltd, created and led by Director Peter Venn.

For more than thirty years, Peter has helped organisations build customer-focused cultures that genuinely work. His experience spans telecoms, distribution, finance, travel, automotive and utilities, where he has led transformation programmes, major technical implementations and people development strategies rooted in shared Values, clear Vision, and practical, human-centred learning.

His clients include EE, TUI, thetrainline.com, Westminster City Council, TalkTalk Group, Barclaycard, Royal Mail, Mercedes Benz, RBS and many others. His work has earned industry recognition, including a top five ranking in the Call Centre Outsourcing Guide (2014), the Service Excellence Award (2024), and the Career Development Resource of the Year Award (2026) for the impact of Business Potential's free learning library.

Why We Exist

Business Potential began with a simple truth: talent is everywhere, but opportunity isn't.

While working in less-advantaged regions around the world, Peter saw that many people with exceptional natural customer focus were working in low-paid roles with very limited access to development. They had drive, empathy and potential — but no affordable way to grow their skills or progress their careers.

Business Potential was created to level that playing field.
